National Segment and Condition Prevalence and Incidence

The National Bridges to Health Dataset has been used by NHS England to publish data on national segment and condition prevalence and incidence, and how these change over time.

This chart includes the 25 conditions with the highest incidence (out of 40 conditions). Incidence rates of all conditions dropped in 2020/21, probably due to the impact of the COVID 19 pandemic on patterns of healthcare interactions. *Incidence of hypertension and chronic kidney disease have increased significantly since the pandemic, a trend also seen in the Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF) published prevalence data.
