Population and Person Insights Dashboard

The Population and Person Insights (PaPI) Dashboard, developed by NHS England, seeks to provide data insights using the National Bridges to Health Segmentation Dataset to contribute to better understanding of and continued improvement in health and care services.

The Population and Person Insights (PaPI) Dashboard is intended to support decision making in health and care. The data views provide analysts and decision makers a range of insights on population groups, their health acuity, associated costs of services and their outcomes.

The main data sources used the PaPI Dashboard are the National Bridges to Health Segmentation Dataset, produced by OBH, and Secondary Uses Services (SUS) data.

Understanding population cohorts of people with similar health and care needs is integral to a more person-focussed health system. It provides a starting point for population health management approaches, to work with local areas, refine their models with their local intelligence and benchmark emerging opportunities.

Patient cohorts are grouped into segments based on common healthcare needs and common socio-demographics such as age, gender, ethnicity and Index of Multiple Deprivation.

Data can be viewed through several lenses; from national, regional, and local level up to ICB, Sub-ICBs.

The PaPI Dashboard is developed by NHS England, and supported by OBH.
