Dr Eirion Slade is the Clinical Informatics Lead at OBH. He is a surgeon by training with a background in mathematics, computing, and research. At OBH, Eirion combines five years of front-line NHS experience with his technical and research experience to ensure OBH data products are designed to the highest clinical standards. He works closely with project delivery and academic teams across the NHS to support them in using OBH products, which have been central to several high-profile population health management use cases. Through this work, Eirion has authored two papers, both published in Nature Medicine. 

Initially studying physics and obtaining a first class masters degree specialising in quantum information processing from Oxford University, Eirion trained on the accelerated course at Oxford Medical School. At Oxford, he worked as part of the COMPare project team at the Centre for Evidence-Based Medicine (CEBM) and taught evidence-based medicine at St Catherine’s College. After qualifying with distinction, he trained as a surgeon in London, specialising in trauma and orthopedic surgery. He holds Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons. He is an alumnus of the Value Based Healthcare Delivery Course at Harvard Business School, and has completed the Stanford Machine Learning Course, as well as a software engineering qualification from Imperial College London. He is currently completing an executive MBA at Bayes Business School in London.
